Today started like any other Saturday at PPA, helping pets by working down a to do list, picking up shoes, dropping off shoes…with the exception of a phone call from a Round Rock vet’s office. From our Vet: An update on Caylee, she is doing well and has recouped from multiple surgeries. If you remember early this year, PPA found this lovely sole wandering road side and had taken her in to provide her much needed medical attention. She was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and was approx 18lbs when found on the street. The most impressive note is that she was blind, both of her eyes had severe disease and significant chronic conjunctivitis. She is now 36.8lbs, controlled in her diabetic state, has under gone bilateral enucleation to provide her long lasting relief from severe conjunctivitis and has been spayed.Read More →

Thanks to your support we were able to help 12 pets with medical issues in March! We were asked to help Joey (biopsy), Shakespeare (leg amputation), and Topper (life saving kidney stone removal surgery) of the Pflugerville Shelter. Our Caylee (spay, eye removal, stabilization), Daisy and Rosalee (heartworm treatment), and Truffless, Kizzee, George, Georgia, Greg, and Gino (vaccines) all received necessary treatments too!                     All because of generous supporters that help us help the pets of Pflugerville. Caylee is the pet of the week at PoundWishes!! Help us reach our $2500 goal to cover her medical expenses. Help us reach our goal here. Caylee was found off 685 and picked up by a Good Samaritan. A 21 pound Pointer whose eyes were in a very bad state, it was uncertain whether weeks of starvation were the sole cause of Caylee’s ill health, or if there were any other medical factors. Our THE ONE event happened last weekend at PetSmart. There were lots of pets looking for their forever families from different organizations. We had a great traffic of people stopping by and giving some love to our pets and getting info. Great news from this weekend: Bradley Cooper got adopted! Daisy is with her family. Ruger spent yesterday afternoon hanging at Hanovers Draught Haus playing with his stuffie and kids, watching ‪#‎volleyball‬, and looking for his family. He was mild mannered and just the goofball that he is. Upon leaving, he did belly up to the bar next to a customer who fell in love with him but could not adopt him. His friend was quoted as “What a great gentle dog! He should find his home soon. Good luck good boy!”. Can you share and help Ruger find his family or even a foster family?
